“Give me the power to create fever
and I could heal any illness”
Hyperthermia can enhance the effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Sometimes, an ineffective chemotherapy and radiotherapy can become effective again when combined with hyperthermia.
We practice the following treatment methods:
Whole-body hyperthermia (v. Ardenne)
The body temperature is raised to 38.5 – 40.5°C (moderate hyperthermia) for whole-body hyperthermia. As with a natural fever, this leads to massive stimulation of the immune system.
Basic research has shown that the growth of tumour cells is inhibited at temperatures of more than 39.5°C.
Apart from the treatment of cancer, many medical studies have shown that whole-body hyperthermia can also be very effective for treating, e.g. chronic borreliosis (Lyme disease), allergies, fibromyalgia, rheumatic illnesses, chronic fatigue, and depression, as well as for enhancing heavy metal detoxification.
Effect of whole-body hyperthermia
Overheating causes oxygen deficiency in the tumour cells. The cell metabolism is destroyed, which can lead to programmed cell death (apoptosis) of the tumour cells. The treatment is not stressful for patients and, indeed, is often considered comfortable.
The immune system frequently finds it difficult or impossible to recognise tumour cells. They alter, however, when heated and form so-called heat-shock proteins (HSPs) on their surfaces which the immune system can recognise as foreign bodies and fight. Healthy cells do not form HSPs.
Local deep hyperthermia (Oncothermia)
Local deep hyperthermia has been intensively researched and developed for more than 25 years. It is frequently talked of as the fourth pillar of cancer therapy alongside surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Several hundred thousand treatments have been now been carried out worldwide, with good success and practically no side-effects.
Effect of local deep hyperthermia
Unlike in healthy cells, the membrane potential (voltage) of cancer cells is not at -70 mV, but at about -30mV to -40mV. This changes the resonance behaviour of the extracellular matrix surrounding the cancer cells.
While healthy tissue has a resonance frequency of about 100 MHz in the region of the extracellular matrix, tissue surrounding tumour cells only has a resonance of about 10 to 16 MHz.
Use of a frequency of 13.56 MHz specifically raises the temperature of tumour tissue. The warmth penetrates the cell membrane of the tumour cells and can destroy protein structures there.
Further effects of local deep hyperthermia
In addition to the direct cell-destroying effect, local deep hyperthermia can improve the effect of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and biological anti-cancer medicines such as amygdalin (B17), artesunate, high-dose vitamin C, and curcumin.
Several studies prove that regional deep hyperthermia combined with high doses of vitamin C improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and can significantly reduce side-effects.
In addition, local deep hyperthermia increases immune competence around the tumour by activating natural killer cells, which is why local deep hyperthermia combined with simultaneous chemotherapy is a scientifically recognised therapy.
A study by the Medical Centre at the University of Munich (by Prof. Rolf Issels) showed very good results with soft tissue sarcomas.
The study examined “focused heating combined with an electrical field” used in regional deep hyperthermia as a supplementary treatment option with conventional mainstream therapies.
The study showed that use of regional deep hyperthermia with chemotherapy resulted in significantly longer survival (15.4 years) compared to treatment with chemotherapy alone (6.2 years).
